2 shot dead while announcing UP polls results in Thakurgaon

In Thakurgaon's Pirganj, two people were shot dead after supporters of one candidate stormed a polling station and besieged the polling booth while announcing the results of the Union Parishad (UP) elections.

The incident took place at Ghidob Government Primary School polling station in Khangaon Union No. 3 of the upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Muza, 32, son of Tamiz Uddin of Nilahar village under Khangaon union, and Shahpali, 30, son of Tofazzal Hossain of Habibpur village under the same union.

Pirganj Police Station OC Jahangir Alam said two supporters were shot dead by BGB members to bring the situation under control.
