Two killed in 'gunfight' with RAB in Srimangal

Two unidentified persons were killed in a 'gunfight' with the RAB members in the Maijdihi hills area of Srimangal in Moulvibazar on Sunday morning.

Additional Superintendent of Police Basu Dutta Chakma, commander of RAB's Srimangal camp, said the miscreants opened fire on a RAB patrol vehicle in the area in the morning. RAB members also fired back and later, two unidentified men were found lying on the spot.

He said the on-duty doctor declared them dead when they were taken to the hospital.

Three RAB members were also injured in the incident, Basu Dutta added.

Srimangal police station SI Jamal said the bodies were taken to the police station from Srimangal RAB camp in the morning. However, no details were given in this regard.
