86 gold bars recovered at Shah Amanat airport

The National Security Intelligence Agency and the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID), in a joint operation, have recovered eighty six gold bars from under the seat of a Bangladesh Biman aircraft coming from the United Arab Emirates at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Saturday morning.

Officials said the recovered gold bar weighed 9kg and 97grams and worth is around Tk 6.25 crore.

They also said that a flight of Bangladesh Biman landed from UAE at 8:30 am on Saturday. Gold bars were found wrapped in black scotch tape under a seat after passengers disembarked.

AKM Sultan Mahmud, deputy director of the CIID, said a case will be filed in this connection.
