One held with 67-kg hemp in Jamalpur

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with huge quantities of hemp in Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Thursday evening.

The arrested drug peddler was identified as Md Saidul Islam,20, son of Md Helal Sarkar at village Durgapur in Daudkandi upazila under Cumilla district.

According to RAB-14 sources, acting on a tip off, a team of the elite force raided in Dikpait bazar area under sadar upazila and arrested him with a private car.

RAB members recovered 67 kilograms of hemp worth about Taka 20 lakh from the car.

A case was registered with Jamalpur Sadar Police Station in this regard.
