10-km traffic Jam on Rangpur-Dhaka highway as truck goes out of order

Traffic on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway has been suspended from 6 am to 1pm on Monday as stone-laden truck has gone out of in Gokul area of Bogra Sadar Upazila.

This has caused long traffic jams on both sides of the highway in an area of about 10 km from Matidali junction of Bogra to Mahasthan Bazar. 

Passengers and drivers have suffered due to the long traffic log.

Witnesses said no presence of highway police was seen at the accident site till 10 am.

However, Gobindganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam said traffic was halted as a truck carrying stones gone out of order on the highway.

He explained that they don't have a wrecker to remove the damaged truck, so passengers and drivers would have to bear the consequences for a while.
