3 killed in Bagerhat bus-truck collision

Three people were killed and 15 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat on Sunday morning.

The accident took place in Palerhat area on the Khulna-Mawa highway, said Sheikh Abul Hasan, in-charge of Mollahat Highway Police Station.

Locals also said the three dead included two drivers of two vehicles and a ten-month-old child named Ayan Sheikh who was travelling with his parents.

Ayan Sheikh is the son of Masud Sheikh of Tangail district. Her parents were seriously injured in the accident.

Sabuj Sheikh, a doctor at the emergency department of Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, said, "Some of the injured have been treated at our hospital. Two of them have been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital as their condition is critical."
