Weeklong tree fair inaugurated in Manikganj

A weeklong 'Tree Fair ' was inaugurated on the Manikganj Government High School Playground under the joint auspices of Manikganj District Administration and Department of Forest on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdul Latif inaugurated the fair as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sanwarul Haque in the chair.

The function was addressed, among others, by District Council Administrator Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Abdus Salam, Manikganj Municipality Mayor Md. Ramjan Ali and Divisional Forest Officer Md. Saidul Islam.

The fair will continue from 10 am to 8 pm and everyday will be followed by cultural functions from 6 pm to 7 pm.

A large number of Nursery owners have already started to sell saplings of fruit, wood and medicinal from the beginning of the inauguration of the fair.
