Rituparna to be paired opposite Srijit in 'Tarikh'

After casting her as Begum Jaan-- a widely applauded role-- in Rajkahini, Srijit Mukherji will now be playing Rituparna Sengupta's co-star in Churni Ganguly's next. The film, titled Tarikh, will also see actor Abir Chatterjee in the lead, reports Times of India.

 

"With Srijit and Abir on board, it will be like a mini gettogether for the Rajkahini team. I'm excited to share the frame with Srijit. Knowing his skills as a director, I'm sure he will do a stupendous job as an actor," said Rituparna, who is equally excited to work with an "intense actor-director like Churnidi."

 

Revealing her character in the movie, she said, "The film is about the intense journey of a woman; how she deals with and comes out of an interesting but sudden phase in her life."

 

On the other hand, Srijit will essay a serious and knowledgeable man, which is quite similar to his real-life image too! The film, a story of separation-- focuses on the impact of social media on our lives and relationships.

 

And being the senior actor in he team, will Rituparna give acting tips to Srijit? "No, not at all! In fact, I think I will get to earn a lot from him! Getting a creative person like Srijit on board is a thing to rejoice," the actress smiled.

 

The film is set to go on the floors in March.
