Shruti Haasan comes up with song for Women's Day

In a novel way of celebrating Women's Day (March 8), actor Shruti Haasan has come up with a new single album, reports the India Today. Earlier the actor has composed music for her father's film Unnapol Oruvan, which turned out to be a hit.

 

But Shruti Haasan then got busy as an actor in both Telugu and Tamil film industries. The actor is now back again to rock with her music. The Vedalam actor has collaborated with musicians Ehsaan and Loy for the special song.

 

Titled My Day In The Sun, the song is a tribute to all women. Shruti, who has penned the lyrics, said, "While writing this song, my main focus was giving a voice to all women. It is about our time, as women, to shine, to be strong and to epitomize the kind of woman we each want to be."

 

"I was really glad to be able to write and sing this song. Musically, it really goes back to the roots of what I have always loved...very rock and roll and something you can sing from the heart," she added.

 

Talking about their collaboration with Shruti, Ehsaan and Loy said, "Shruti is a fantastic songwriter. We have come up with a song which is very contemporary and hard-hitting both musically and lyrically."

 

Meanwhile, Shruti is awaiting the release of her upcoming film with John Abraham, Rocky Handsome.
