8-day music festival begins today at Shilpakala

Eight-day music festival will begin today on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to uphold the local songs, reports the BSS.

 

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu is expected to inaugurate the festival as the chief guest.

 

Apart from songs, the festival will also feature conferring of honor to talented musicians, publication of over hundred music-album, two seminars and four workshops.

 

A 200-feet timeline board will be set up on the fair compound to inform audiences about the history and evolution of Bangla music.

 

Host organisation Sammilita Sangeetshilpi Society announced the program at a press conference in a city hotel today, a press release said.

 

Society president Asharaf Udash, convener Hasan Matiur Rahman, journalist Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Nazrul Sangeet singer Khalid Hossain, Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Muhammad, vocalist of noted Bangla band LRB Ayub Bachchu and music lyricist and composer Prince Mahmud joined the press conference, among others.
