BD singers can join ‘KBS K-Pop World Festival’

The south Korean Embassy in Dhaka has brought an opportunity for Bangladeshi singers to represent Bangladesh in the ‘KBS K-Pop World Festival’ to be held in South Korea in September next, reports the UNB.

 

As part of cultural exchange between Bangladesh and Korea, the Korean Embassy will organize ‘2016 K-Pop Contest Dhaka’ at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on June 4 to be participated by Bangladeshi performers.

 

Korean Ambassador in Dhaka AHN Seong-doo, Fahmida Nabi, Nustat Imrose Tisha and Laila Hasan will attend the event.

 

K-pop or Korean POP is a musical genre originating in South Korea that is characterized by a wide verity of audiovisual elements. World fans of K-pop are growing and its popularity is on the rise around the world. 

 

The Embassy said the two countries would be able to come much closer with the power of culture, giving a further boost to bilateral friendship.

 

The event, the Embassy thinks, will provide a good opportunity for Bangladeshi people to enjoy the charm of Korean Pop.

 

The grand prize winners of ‘2016 K-Pop Contest Dhaka’ will be the Bangladesh representatives to the first round of semifinals of the KBS K-Pop World Festival.

 

If the Bangladesh representatives qualify for the grand finals, they will fly to Korea to join the live competition which will be held on September 30, 2016, in Changwon, Korea.
