Mahi gets bail in both cases

Popular actress Mahiya Mahi, who was arrested and sent to jail on Saturday, has been granted bail in both cases filed against her.

Gazipur Metropolitan Magistrate Court 5 granted bail to Mahi four hours after she was sent to jail in the DSA case.

Mahi's lawyer Advocate Anwar Shahadat Sarkar said that the court gave this order considering pregnancy and celebrity.

Mahi was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning in connection with two cases.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) arrested the actress at roughly 11:45 a.m. this morning after arriving in Dhaka from Saudi Arabia, according to GMP Commissioner Molla Nazrul Islam.

He said that a case was filed under the Digital Security Act against Mahiya Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar on Friday night for defaming the image of the police.

Ismail Hossain, son of Haji Nuru of Dighir Chala village in Gazipur metropolis filed another case against Mahi and her husband on the charge of land grabbing and vandalism, the GMP commissioner added.

A Gazipur court has sent actress Mahiya Mahi to jail in a case filed under Digital Security Act.

Gazipur Metropolitan Magistrate Iqbal Hussain's court passed the order in the afternoon.
