'Chhayabrikkho' gets uncut censor certificate

The government-funded movie based on the lives of tea garden workers titled "Chhayabrikkha" is now ready for release.

Under the direction of Bandhan Biswas, actors Nirob and Apu Biswas performed in the movie. Filming of the movie started at Rangunia of Chattogram and ended at Srimangal of Sylhet.

Bandhan Biswas said on Wednesday that the movie got cleared for uncut censor. If the schedule permits, he wants to release the movie on time for the upcoming Durga Puja.

Apu Biswas acted in the role of 'Tuli'. "I hope viewers will soon be able to enjoy an unusual story on the silver screen soon," she said about the movie.

Echoing the same sentiment, Nirob said, "Love, struggle, and various sides of the lives of tea garden workers have been portrayed in the movie."

The movie got Tk 50 lakh financial assistance from the government in the fiscal year 2019-20. Other than Apu Biswas and Nirob, Sumit Sengupta, Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed, Shatabdi Wadud, Dawn, Elina Shammi, Iqbal Babu, Zahid, Boroda Mithu, Azam Khan were among the ones who acted in the film.
