ADC Saqlain to be sent to forced retirement over illegal affairs with Pori Moni

The Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended sending former additional deputy commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Golam Saklain on compulsory retirement.

On June 13, the ministry sent a letter to Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) seeking its opinion in this regard. 

According to the letter, Saklain used to live at Pori Moni's house. And when his wife was absent, Pori Moni used to stay at the official’s house of Saklain.

DMP, on August 7, 2021, withdrew the then ADC Saklain from the Gulshan Division of DB following allegations of unprofessional behaviour with actor Pori Moni during an investigation.

According to media reports, Saklain had engaged in immoral conduct with Pori Moni while handling a case filed by the actress on June 13, 2021.

The case was lodged against five persons, including businessman Nasir U Mahmud, former president of Uttara Club.

A CCTV video shows Pori Moni and Saklain getting out of a car together. Saklain was also seen going inside the lift with her. Then he was carrying a trolley bag. 

In another video footage, the duo was seen exiting the building at midnight with the same trolley bag.
