Tk 9cr grants announced for 32 films

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced a total grant of Tk9 crore for the production of 32 films in the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The grants will support 12 full-length feature films and 20 short films.

According to two official notifications signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Sharmin Akhtar on Tuesday, each full-length film will receive Tk75 lakh in funding while each short film will be granted Tk20 lakh.

The 12 full-length films selected for grants are:

Robin Hood's Amazing Adventure, Mayer Dak, July, Ruher Kafila, Parotar Swaad, Khowari, Jibon Opera, Jaljuddha, Kabir Mukh The Time Keeper, Kofiner Dana, Nawab Fujunnessa and Jui.

The 20 short films to receive funding include:

Mondo-Bhalo, Felani, Jhukir Matra, Jibon Gaan, Who Has Made Us Fly, Bhara Badar, 1230, Brindarani's Finger, Ekti Cinemar Jonno, Dafan, Swatar, Mangso Kam, Gagan, Atithi, Boba, Odoito, Ashar Alo, Gorjanpurer Bagha, Where the Water Slips and Apasamoy. 

The move was taken to gear up creativity and support the country's film industry.
