I will see the end: Badhan

Actress Azmeri Haque Badhan was attacked and harassed along with her family in Venice, Italy. 

She blamed some people who identified themselves as leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League and Chhatra League for the incident. 

The actress said that she received cooperation from the local police and the Bangladesh Embassy after the incident. 

At the same time, Badhan said that she was also contacted by the Prime Minister’s Office.

In a video message posted on social media after the incident, Badhan said that she is currently safe and will take legal action in the attack.

Badhan said, “Those who identified themselves as leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League and Chhatra League committed this incident. For me, the way my younger brother’s family and his young child were attacked. This is unacceptable. I will file a case at the police station. I have spoken to many people here. I am not coming to Bangladesh from Venice without filing a case. I will leave this after seeing the end of it.”

Badhan said that the local police cooperated with her after the incident. The police even took her to a safe place last night. Today, she is preparing to go to the police station with officials from the Bangladesh embassy and file a case.

The actress said, “We have all the evidence and we have already identified many people. The ambassador of the Bangladesh embassy called me. People from his office have also come. I am going to the police station with them to file a case.”

Badhan also expressed gratitude to those who searched for her from within and outside the country after the incident. She said, “Since yesterday, many people have been calling me, trying to get news of me. They are asking how I am, where I am. Alhamdulillah, I am fine.”

Badhan also highlighted her mental fortitude. She said, “I have never bowed my head. It is not so easy to break me. Badhan was not born to lose courage.”

Badhan also said that she is proud of the support she has received from the people of the country. In her words, “I think I am a proud Bangladeshi because the people of my country stood by me in my time of danger. For this, much gratitude and love to everyone.”

In her speech, Badhan also highlighted the issue of standing by the common people during the July 2024 uprising. She said, “I stood by the people of Bangladesh during the July uprising. I think this is one of the right decisions I have taken in my life. I am a proud July fighter.”

However, Badhan said that what happened to her younger brother, his wife and three-year-old child moved her more. She said, “I am seriously upset by the way my younger brother, his wife and his three-year-old child have been assaulted and harassed.”

Finally, Badhan once again expressed her determination to take legal action. She said, “I am not coming to Bangladesh from Venice without filing a case. This is the end, I will see to it. Everyone will be well, stay healthy. Pray for me.”
