Ranveer to be paid Rs 5cr for 15-minute IPL Performance

Ranveer Singh is basking in glory with the success of Padmaavat. Fans went gaga after seeing him as the negative character - Alauddin Khilji. Well, the actor is now in huge demand. Going by the recent buzz, Ranveer will perform at the 11th Edition of the Indian Premier League on April 7 and will be paid a whopping amount of money for a 15-minute performance at IPL 2018 opening ceremony. 

If a report on a leading daily is anything to go by, then the actor is likely to be paid Rs 5 crore for a 15-minute long performance. A source told the daily, "He will be shaking a leg for about 15 minutes, but the organising team was always clear that they wanted Ranveer as a performer and that’s why he has been offered such a huge amount." 

The source further added, "His appeal cuts across cities, age-groups and has an equally  big fan following among men and women. That's why the organisers felt that he is the perfect fit for the performance at this year's IPL opening ceremony."  

On the work front, Ranveer will be teaming up with Alia Bhatt for the first time in Gully Boy, even as the duo has collaborated on lots of ads earlier. The movie is being helmed by Zoya Akhtar and is slated to release on February 14, 2019, Pinkvilla reports.    

About Gully Boy, Ranveer earlier said, "It’s very close to my heart. My first film, Band Baaja Baaraat is very special to me. After that, if there’s any film that’s close to my heart, it’s Gully Boy. I want to put these boys (rappers Naezy and Divine) in the spotlight. I want to be a champion for their cause and provide a bigger platform for such amazing talents to shine through.” 

Ranveer also talked about the film’s director Zoya. He said, “Zoya and I really get each other. I’m connected with her on a personal level. We speak to each other openly and are absolutely honest with each other. For me, that’s a unique dynamic. She holds a very special place in my heart.” 

Ranveer will also be seen in Simmba where he plays a raunchy police officer.
