Google doodle celebrates Feroza Begum’s birthday

Search engine giant Google has created a new Doodle on its homepage, marking 88th birth anniversary of Bangladeshi iconic singer Feroza Begum.  

Feroza Begum (28 July 1930 – 9 September 2014) popularised Nazrul Sangeet throughout the country with her sweet voice.   

Recognising her contribution on music, the Bangladesh government honoured her with the Independence Day Award in 1979. 

Feroza Begum was born in Gopalganj district on July 28, 1930. She started her career as a singer in the 1940s.
