Torsa crowned Miss World Bangladesh

Rafah Nanjeba Torsa has won the title of Miss World Bangladesh 2019.

The announcement of Miss World Bangladesh 2019 came from a dazzling gala night at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Friday.

Torsa was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, Miss World Bangladesh 2018.

Torsa, a student of International Relations Department of University of Chittagong, will represent Bangladesh at the 69th Miss World 2019 competition to be held in upcoming December in London.

In this year's edition, Fatiha Khould Miamiand and Zannatul Ferdaus Meghla have become first and second runners-up, respectively.

Apart from two runners-up, the others who are enlisted in top 12 delegates for Miss World Bangladesh 2019 are Sumaya Sanjin, Nisha Chowdhury, Tahmina Tamanna, Tridipa Bhoumick Trisha, Sonia Wahid Mitu, Noushin Meem, Snigdha Rahman, Srabonti Das and Priyontee Urbee.

The prime judges of the contest were film actress noted film actress Moushumi, film actor Ferdous and beauty expert Farnaz Alam.

This is the third edition of Miss World Bangladesh contest where a total of 37,243 contestants applied for contesting.

While expressing feelings about being elected Miss World Bangladesh, Torsa said, "I have worked hard to see myself in such a place." My hard labour has made me successful. I have actually lost my words to speak. I had confidence in myself. Keep me in your prayers to enlighten the glory of Bangladesh."
