Ranu's video goes viral again

After winning millions of hearts by singing - Teri Meri Kahani - with the melodious voice,  Ranu Mondal, the internet sensation, has been going viral on social media for another song now.

This time, Ranu is seen singing a song for her fans on the occasion of Diwali. Ranu recently graced Bengali television show ‘Comedy Stars’ as a guest on the special occasion of Diwali. She opened up on her struggles and later enthralled the audience by crooning a song from superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s superhit film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, reports Orissa Post.

She sang the song Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jana Sanam and received a lot of appreciation.  The video of Ranu Mandal’s live performance has now once again gone viral on social media. The video has been shared by Instagram account named dailyhunt_official.

Coming back to her path to success, Ranu Mandol became a superstar overnight after a video of her singing Lata Mangeshkar’s Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai was uploaded by a youth that went viral on social media.

Soon, music composer Himesh Reshammiya gave her a chance with Teri Meri Kahaani from his movie Happy Hardy and Heer which changed her life. Significantly, after the songs of Ranu became famous in the whole country, a Facebook account was created in her name. All information related to Ranu keeps updating on this account.

Ranu continues to live in her old house in West Bengal. Recently, a post was given informing that Ranu is working on her biopic. Journalist-turned-independent filmmaker Hrishikesh Mondal is set to direct the film, titled Platform Singer Ranu Mondal, which will chronicle the singer’s journey from Ranaghat railway station in West Bengal to Hindi film industry.

Actress Sudipta Chakraborty has been approached for the role of Ranu. Confirming the development, Sudipta revealed to a leading daily, “Yes, I have been offered the film. However, I am yet to receive a script. I will decide if I want to play the character only after reading the script.”
