Zayed Khan challenges decision of Appellate Board in HC

Zayed Khan has filed an application with the High Court challenging the validity of the cancellation of the candidature of the Appellate Board in the election of the Film Artists’ Association.

On Monday morning, lawyer Nahid Sultana Yuthi confirmed the information to the reporters.

He said the petition has been filed with the High Court bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman. The application will be heard as per the schedule.

On February 5, the Election Appeal Board rejected the candidature of Zayed Khan and declared Nipun as the General Secretary of Film Artists’ Association.

Sohanur Rahman Sohan, chairman of the Bangladesh Film Artists' Association's election appeals board, announced at the end of a meeting called at the FDC that Zayed Khan's post of general secretary had been canceled due to non-compliance with the electoral code of conduct.

As a result, the actress Nipun was shown winning the post without any competition.
