Farooki's film 'No Land's Man' wins the Prix du Public in France

The prestigious Prix du Public (fiction film public) was awarded to celebrated filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's debut international language feature "No Land's Man" on Tuesday at the 28th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France.

While in France for the screening of his film and the award ceremony on Wednesday, Farooki revealed the news on his Facebook page.

"No Land's Man is my favorite character! Tonight at the Vesoul Film Festival, this remarkable video was given the Prix du Public. This award is in recognition of my vast, multi-continental team! I admire each and every one of you! I'm excited for people to see the film. Perhaps soon!" The piece was written by Farooki.

The world premiere of "No Land's Man" took place at the festival on Saturday. On the other side, Farooki might show up for the second screening on Sunday. He took part in a live Q&A session after the movie.

The film's main theme is around the misery of a third-world human being's existential crisis in numerous locations.

The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a well-known Bollywood actor, as well as Tahsan Khan, a well-known Bangladeshi singer-actor, Megan Mitchell, and Indian actors Isha Chopra, Vikram Kochhar, and Kiran Khoje.

"No Land's Man," a Bangladeshi joint venture by Dialectic and Chabial in partnership with India's Magic If Films, Bangladesh's Sun Music & Motion Pictures, and Bongo BD, has also teamed up with Oscar-BAFTA-Grammy-winning world-famous Indian composer AR Rahman for its music.

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Anjan Chowdhury, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Shrihari Sathe, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, A R Rahman, and Faridur Reza Sagar serve as executive producers on the film.

Farooki's identity trilogy, which began with "Shonibar Bikel," continues with "No Land's Man" (Saturday Afternoon).

The Iranian film "No Choice," directed by Reza Dormishian, shared the festival's fiction film audience prize with "No Land's Man."

From February 2 to February 8, 2022, the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema took place.

The festival's top prize was granted to Zhang Lu's "Yanagawa" (China) by the international jury, while Hong Sung-"Aloners" Eun of South Korea received both the international jury prize and the Netpac jury award.
