Pori Moni exempted from personal appearance in court

A Dhaka court on Thursday exempted actress Pori Moni from appearing in court in a narcotics case due to her advanced stage of pregnancy.

Judge Mohammad Nazrul Islam of the Special Judge Court-10 of Dhaka issued the judgment after her lawyer Nilanjona Rifat submitted an application for exemption from personal presence.

Pori Moni's lawyer finished cross-examining the case's complainant earlier in the day. Pori Moni was present at the court.

After the cross-examination, the judge fixed July 19 for next hearing of the case.

On January 5, the same court framed charges against Pori Moni and two others.
