Light Festival held in Old Dhaka

A Light Festival was held at the very old neighborhood of Armanitola in Old Dhaka on Monday night to celebrate the World Heritage Day.
Urban Study Group organized the event jointly with Armanitola Gov Boys’ High School Alumni Association.
The highlight of the event was a 3D video projection mapping at the Armanitola neighborhood, reports the UNB.
Armanitola Government Boys’ High School was chosen as the main venue while the famous Star Mosque adjacent to the school was also part of the exhibition.
Supernumerary Professor of History Department of Dhaka University Dr Abdul Momin Chowdhury and poet Asad Chowdhury were present at the function.
The organizers said the objective of the initiative is to highlight the importance of protecting and preserving the old buildings.
The event started at 7 pm and continued till 11 pm with a one hour break for the evening prayer.
The World Heritage Day is celebrated on April 18 every year.
