Govt bans import of e-cigarettes

In a bid to public health and future generations from their harmful effects, the government has imposed a ban on the import of e-cigarettes or electronic nicotine delivery systems.

The commerce ministry has issued a notification on Tuesday to this end. 

As per the notification, the ban takes effect immediately. 

This decision follows a government move taken nearly a month ago to restrict the import of all e-cigarette-related products.
