Bangladeshi boy nominated for Children's Peace Prize

A 15-year-old boy from Dhaka has been nominated for the annual International Children's Peace Prize for creating equal access to education and healthcare for underprivileged children. 

According to a post on the KidsRights official Instagram, Tanzim founded MAANUSH, providing free STEM and literacy education in Dhaka's slums, and Project Q2, a mentorship program connecting youth with research opportunities and expert guidance. Through his social enterprise Plant Wala BD, he funds scholarships and empowers women through urban gardening initiatives. Project Q2 supports over 2,000 students worldwide. 

The annual International Children's Peace Prize, organized by the Dutch foundation, KidsRights, is awarded to a child "whose courageous or otherwise remarkable acts have made a difference in countering problems which affect children around the world." It comes with a cash purse of 100,000 euros to be spent on projects related to the winner's work.
