BNP rally at Suhrawardy Udyan: DMP sets 26 conditions

The BNP has been given permission to hold its rally on December 10 at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan under 26 restrictions by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The restrictions include the following: no gathering outside the venue; supporters may arrive at the site no later than two hours prior to the start of the rally; supporters may not carry sticks or rods; no anti-state statements or actions; no processions to attend the rally; no inciteful speech or leaflets; and the organizers will be held accountable in the event that the situation with law and order worsens.

The DMP informed the BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi of these conditions in a letter.

Initially, the BNP planned to stage the demonstration in front of its Nayapaltan headquarters in the city.
