Arrest warrant issued against Rizvi in arson case

A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed in a case filed over torching a garbage truck in Tejgaon area in 2012.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Tofazzal Hossain issued the arrest warrant against the BNP leader on Monday, said sources related to the court.

According to the sources, last Thursday, the date of hearing was scheduled for the formulation of the charge of the case. On that day, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and three people appeared before the court but Rizavi was absent. Consequently, the judge cancelled their bail and issued an arrest warrant. 

At the same time, the court also set March 29 to hear to form the charge sheet of the case.
