BNP's December 10 rally will be at Naya Paltan, vows Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reiterated that party’s December 10 rally will be held in front of BNP's central office at Naya Paltan in the capital.

He came up with the latest development at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's political office in Gulshan on Thursday.

Fakhrul said, “BNP’s Dhaka divisional mass rally will be held in front of the party's central office in Naya Paltan on December 10. If any untoward incident happens there, the government will be responsible for it. We urge the government to remove all obstacles and allow peaceful gathering.”

Responding to the query that the party office is surrounded by the police, in this situation, how will the rally be held there, the BNP General Secretary said, “We have clearly said that we will hold a rally in front of our central office in Naya Paltan. Now the responsibility of the government is how much they will allow this rally to be held peacefully. We must go to our meeting place. Then the people will decide what will happen.”

Addressing the government, he said that the police should be immediately withdrawn from the central office of BNP, the unconditional release of all the arrested leaders and activists, the disappearance and false cases should be withdrawn, harassment and searches should be stopped in the name of arrest. 

All obstacles must be removed to hold the Dhaka divisional mass meeting peacefully on December 10, he continued.
