All 7 BNP MPs announce resignation from parliament

Seven BNP lawmakers announced that they will resign from parliament as per the decision of the party's Standing Committee.

The announcement of resignation came from the Golapbagh rally in Dhaka on Saturday where thousands of party men from across the country thronged. 

The move is being taken as the party gets ready to make a 10-point demand, which includes dissolving parliament, at Saturday's demonstration.

BNP MP Gulam Mohammad Siraj, who was elected from Bogura-6, first made the announcement of resignation from the parliament at the grand rally of BNP.

Reserved seat MP Rumin Farhana said that the resignation letter was sent by email on Friday.

"The resignation letter will be submitted to the Speaker of the parliament on Sunday," she continued.

The six other lawmakers include Zahidur Rahman from Thakurgaon-3, Mosharof Hosen from Bogura-4, Aminul Islam from Chapainawabganj-2, Harunur Rashid from Chapainawabganj-3, Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan from Brahmanbaria-2 and Rumeen Farhana.

The party's secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on October 30, declared that the total seven lawmakers from the party are prepared to resign from the House.
