Chase, counter-chase between AL-BNP in Mugda; 2 bikes set on fire

Leaders and activists of the ruling party and opposition BNP chased each other on the road from Mugda hospital intersection to Basabo Buddhist Temple intersection on Saturday.

Two motorcycles were set on fire by unidentified miscreants, creating panic in the area.

BNP leaders and activists claim that Jubo League-Chatra League leaders and activists have attacked them while returning home from the BNP rally held at Golapbagh in the city.

However, police and Ansar members told The Daily Samakal that no such incident happened.

Leaders and workers of Awami League took a position at the capital's intersection from this morning to face BNP's Dhaka divisional mass meeting. 

They claim that if BNP tries to do any anarchy through the rally, they have come to the field to prevent it.
