Government has destroyed spirit of liberation war: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that the ruling Awami League government has destroyed the spirit of the liberation war.

On the occasion of the 87th birth anniversary of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, he made this complaint in a briefing at the end of the joint meeting held at the central office of BNP at Nayapaltan in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “The government has destroyed the spirit of the liberation war. It is not allowing the country's judiciary to function independently. I want to build a democratic Bangladesh through the realization of 10-point demands placed by BNP-led alliance.”

He said that as the tyranny of the government is increasing, the participation of people in the movement of BNP is escalating.

BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, party Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Dhaka Metropolitan North Convener Amanullah Aman and other leaders were present on the occasion.
