5 IU BCL members expelled

Bangladesh Chhatra League has expelled its five leaders and activists of Islamic University (IU) unit in Kushtia from the party for their involvement in anti-organizational, anti-discipline, criminal activities that tarnish the image of the organization.

A press release signed by Saddam Hossain, president of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Chhatra League and general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan said this on Wednesday.

According to the press release, the expelled BCL members include Sanjida Chowdhury Antora, vice-president of the university unit BCL, and four activists Halima Akhtar Urmi, Ishrat Jahan Mim, Tabassum Islam, and Mawabia Jahan.

Meanwhile, the High Court has ordered the expulsion of five female students accused of torturing and humiliating a fellow female student at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia. 

The court also ordered to remove the provost of Sheikh Hasina Hall of the university.
