GCC polls: Former mayor Jahangir's mother gets 'Table Clock'

The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday allocated electoral symbols among mayoral candidates of the upcoming Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) elections scheduled to be held on May 15.

Returning Officer Md Faridul Islam distributed the symbols among the candidates at 10am.

Sources at the EC said, Awami League candidate Azamat Ullah Khan was allocated the symbol 'Boat.' Former mayor Jahangir Alam's mother and independent candidate Zaida Khatun got 'Table Clock.'

Jatiya Party candidate M M Niaz Uddin received the 'Plough' symbol while National People's Front candidate Atiqul Islam got 'Fish.' Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate Ataur Rahman got 'Hand Fan,' and Zaker Party candidate Raju Ahmed received 'Rose.'

Independent candidate Sarkar Shah Nur Islam Rony was allotted 'Elephant,' and Harun Or Rashid got 'Horse.'
