Rise in remittance inflow irritates BNP: Quader

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader asserted that the BNP has become dissatisfied with the rise in remittances coming into the country.

According to Quader, who is also the minister of roads, bridges, and transportation, the BNP secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has allegedly made a number of claims concerning the increase in the nation's remittance flow from the US with hidden agendas.

He said it is entirely understandable that those who only consider the requests of their foreign overlords to impose sanctions on the nation and its citizens will find it impossible to accept the positive news of remittance inflow in any way.

Quader cited that the remittance flow has increased due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's timely decision to provide 2.5 percent incentive on remittances sent by expatriates. 

The AL general secretary added that Bangladesh has a sound economic foundation and is recognized as a secure location for investments as a result of Bangabandhu's daughter's effective leadership.
