BCC polls: 106 polling centres marked 'risky'

Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) has marked 106 out of 124 polling centres as important or risky in the upcoming Barishal City Corporation polls.

Police initially identified 70 centres as risky, and after taking into consideration the centres that candidates have expressed concern about, 106 centres in total were considered as risky.

BMP Commissioner Saiful Islam made the observation at a press briefing arranged to discuss the election's security at the BMP headquarters on Saturday.

In total, 4,400 law enforcers will be on polls duty, he said.

"We don't know any candidate, any symbol, any party. We know people and voters. Voters will be able to vote without any problem," the commissioner said.
