BNP men gather for rally defying rainy weather

Activists of the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) have started to gather for a rally at Nayapaltan, ignoring a round of drizzles that started around noon on Wednesday. 

BNP processions are arriving at the location from several places in Dhaka, such as Kakrail, Shantinagar, Fakirarpul, and Moghbazar.

Activists of the BNP and its like-minded parties started to gather at various locations in Nayapaltan from 9am, carrying colourful banners and festoons.

The public rally is scheduled to start in front of the BNP's Nayapaltan central office at 2pm from where party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will announce the programmes to kick off their one-point movement.

A makeshift stage using six trucks has already been built at the location.

Law enforcement agencies have taken strict measures centring the rally. Policemen in civilian clothes were also seen around the location.
