AL holds rally before the parade starts

The ruling Awami League is holding a brief demonstration in front of the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital city on Tuesday afternoon before starting its "peace and development procession."

The AL leaders have started addressing the crowd from a stage that has been set up atop a truck.

Speaking to the audience, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, the joint general secretary of the AL, asserted that the BNP-Jamaat was trying to destabilize the country and together, they are undermining the nation's democracy.

He alleged that BNP is waging movements to serve their own interest but not for the welfare of the people.

The AL men is working to ensure that the next election will be held led by the government of Sheikh Hasina, AL President and Prime Minister.

The AL's general secretary and minister for roads and bridges, Obaidul Quader, has arrived at the location.

To participate in the demonstration against the "terror and anarchy of BNP-Jamaat, the men of the ruling party are gathering nearby the venue by pickup trucks and buses.

Some of them were seen making noise with drums and chanting. Music was being played over the loudspeakers there.

Before reaching Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi-32, the procession would depart from the IEB grounds and pass via the Shahbagh intersection, Elephant Road, and City College.
