Hero Alam files complaint with EC demanding re-election

Digital content creator Ashraful Alom alias Hero Alam, who was an independent candidate in the Dhaka-17 by-polls, has submitted a written complaint to the Election Commission (EC), demanding re-election.

Hero Alam arrived at the EC office in Dhaka’s Agargaon at around 12:30pm on Sunday. He told journalists, "I lost the by-polls help on the 17th (of July) because of vote-rigging. I want a re-election.

"I have video footage that children as young as 12-13 years cast votes. Many were forced to vote for boat."

Hero Alam also said, "Till now I have participated in three polls. During all three I was attacked, my agents were kicked out, and the result was rigged. So, I will not participate in any more polls under this government or Election Commission."
