AL wants to hold peace rally at south gate of Baitul Mukarram

Three associate wings - Juba League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League - of the ruling Awami League want to hold a joint massive peace rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Friday afternoon.

Swechasebak League Acting President Gazi Mejbaul Hossain Satchu and General Secretary AKM Afzalur Raman Babu told this to The Daily Samakal at 1:15 pm on Thursday.

Talking to The Daily Samakal, they said, “We were preparing the capital's old trade fair ground to hold Friday's peace rally. However, there is a presidential function at the nearby Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Friday. SSF, therefore, objected to holding the rally at the old trade fair ground.”

“Being informed over mobile phone about the objection, we have stopped the preparation of the mass gathering at the trade fair ground,” they continued.
