Fakhrul in Nayapaltan 2.5 hours ahead of rally

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir arrived at Nayapaltan two and a half hours ahead of the party's rescheduled grand rally on Friday, aiming to mount pressure on the government to accept their one-point demand.

The rally is scheduled to start at 2pm on Friday, but Mirza Fakhrul reached the location at 11:25am. He will address the rally as the chief guest.

Meanwhile, leaders and activists of the BNP started arriving at the venue early on Friday. A crowd was forming as early as 8:30am.

Chhatra Dal's joint general secretary Sarwar Hossain said he brought leaders and activists from Cumilla to Nayapaltan at 6am. Some people came to the venue late last night. Some arrived at dawn.

BNP men were also seen on the roads and alleys around Nayapaltan. They were found to have travelled from different parts of the country.
