BNP to hold countrywide rallies on Monday

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the party will hold rallies in districts and cities across the country on Monday (July 31).

Fakhrul made the announcement at a press conference held at BNP chairperson's Gulshan office on Saturday.

At the press conference, the BNP leader said, "BNP leaders and activists were shot at without any provocation. Many leaders and activists including standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Dhaka north city unit convener Amanullah Aman were detained."

He also said, "BNP is being blamed for the incident where a bus was set on fire. But everyone knows who did it."

Fakhrul claimed BNP does not want to practice violent politics.

Among others, BNP standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, joint secretary general Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel, media cell convenor, Zahir Uddin Swapan, and member secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anne were present at the press conference.
