Govt trying to hold one-sided election again: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said Awami League (AL) is once again trying to grab power through a lopsided election. The party is trying to prevent BNP from participating in the polls and deterring all of their activities.

Fakhrul made the remarks at a press release held at the BNP chairperson's Gulshan office on Tuesday.

"The government is trying to act civil ahead of the national polls. But a fair election is not possible under the current government. So, the government has to step down and allow the national polls to be held under a neutral government," Fakhrul said.

Regarding the replacement of the Digital Security Act (DSA) with a cyber security act, he said whatever the name is, BNP wants the law to be abolished.

"The name of DSA is being changed to cyber security act under pressure from foreigners. The government is trying to fool people," Fakhrul added.
