BNP to hold mass processions on Friday

The BNP will hold large-scale processions in the city on Friday afternoon.

The programme was called as part of BNP’s one-point demand to force the government to resign and hold the next election under a non-party caretaker government, said party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Alamgir was addressing a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters in Dhaka.

He asserted that the BNP's Dhaka south and north city sections would hold separate processions after Juma prayers to materialise their one-point demand.

Other opposition parties taking part in the concurrent movement, according to Mirza Fakhrul, would hold related programmes from their respective ground.

The BNP leader hoped that the government would help hold their peaceful mass processions.

He cautioned them that they would be accountable for any unfortunate incident if it happens.
