Raushan Ershad declares herself Jatiya Party chairman

Jatiya Party chief patron and leader of the opposition in parliament Raushan Ershad has declared herself the party's chairman while the incumbent Chairman GM Quader is on a three-day visit to India.

A press release in this regard, signed by Raushan Ershad, was issued on Tuesday.

"I, Begum Raushan Ershad, MP, founder co-chairman of Jatiya Party, hereby announce that I have accepted the responsibility of party chairman in order to maintain the momentum of the party on the advice and decision of the senior leaders of the party," reads the release.
