BNP announces grand rally on Oct 28

The BNP has announced a grand rally to be held in Dhaka on October 28, calling for the present government to resign.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a rally at the capital's Nayapaltan on Wednesday.

"BNP will start a great journey from the grand rally,"  Fakhrul said.

Wednesday's rally, jointly organised by the BNP's Dhaka north and south units, kicked off in front of the BNP office at 2pm.

Work on building the stages started from the dawn. Leaders and activists of the BNP and its associated bodies started showing up early at the venue.

Members of various law enforcement agencies took up positions around the venue in anticipation of the event.
