Zahangir Alam forgiven

The ruling Awami League has forgiven its former Gazipur city unit general secretary and city mayor Zahangir Alam on the condition that he does not violate the organisational discipline and will nor run any activities against the interests of the organisation in the future. 

In a letter signed by Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday afternoon, said he was forgiven subject to conditions.

In the letter, Zahangir Alam has been warned that any anti-organisational actions in the future will not be accepted.

In this regard, Jahangir told reporters, “I am forever grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for forgiving me. I want to work dedicatedly for the country and people.”

Jahangir was previously expelled for life over allegations of making derogatory comments about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and martyred freedom fighters.
