AL to distribute nomination forms from Thursday

Awami League (AL) will start distribution of nomination forms from Thursday among the party's aspirants for vying in the by-poll for Patuakhali-1 constituency as per the Election Commission's (EC) schedule.

The constituency of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) fell vacant at the death of former state minister for Religious Affairs and Patuakhali district unit Awami League president Advocate Shahjahan Mia.

The intending candidates can collect and submit the nomination forms from AL President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office from 10:30am to 4:30pm every day between October 26 and 27, according to a press release signed by AL office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua issued Tuesday.

The party has requested all aspiring candidates to bring their national identity (NID) cards while collecting and submitting the nomination forms. The nomination forms have to be submitted by 4.30pm on October 27.
