BNP men flock to Nayapaltan early

Leaders and activists of the BNP have started to flock to the capital's Nayapaltan since Saturday morning in anticipation of a grand rally in front of the party office.

Although the rally is scheduled to start at 2pm, party men started to arrive at the venue in the morning with processions from various areas of the capital. Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is said to address the rally as the chief guest.

Apart from BNP, other like-minded political parties and alliances have also made preparations to arrange separate rallies in different spots in the city to press home the one-point demand that includes the resignation of the Awami League government and holding the next election under a neutral government.

The ruling Awami League is also scheduled to hold a rally in front of the south gate of Baitul Mukarram mosque, which is 1.7 kilometres away from the BNP’s venue at Nayapaltan.
