Jamaat-e-Islami calls for 3-day nationwide blockade

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has declared a three-day statewide blockade to realise its demand to remove the Awami League government that is currently in power.

The declaration was made by the party's Acting Secretary General ATM Masum on Monday during a press conference in Dhaka, one day after the BNP and its allies announced a nationwide blockade starting from Tuesday.

The acting leader of the Islamic party condemned the assault on the BNP rally by police and members of the ruling party and urged the peopel to participate in a nonviolent blockade.
